This course is designed to give hands on training in all aspects of repairs and maintenance work for all models and components supplied by Kavanagh Balloons.
Other manufacturers equipment will not be covered.
During the course you will get hands on training in the following:
Inspection, disassembly, reassembly and testing of burners.
Basket inspections, wicker repairs, basket floor and runner repairs and general maintenance.
Fuel cylinder inspections and repairs
Envelope inspections, basic repairs including patching, load tapes and rigging.
Annual inspection requirements and fabric testing procedures.
Basic sewing instruction including machine set-up and correct stitch and tension adjustments.
Most of the above will be straight from our Maintenance Manual with the detail being in workshop practices and standard techniques for the use of tools, sealants and sewing machines.
Sessions will also cover the following theory subjects:
Basic CASA paperwork including logbook requirements and entries.
Airworthiness directives and other continuing airworthiness requirements.
Mindset and responsibilities of a MA holder.
